Solving lots of problems is only half the story in becoming a Topcoder. The science of problem solving involves jumping over gaps, which can be difficult implementation, hard-to-see observation, or difficult algorithm. Some problems are easy, while some are hard. Training helps improve problem solving skills, but solving only easy problems limits the ability to jump over bigger gaps.
